PG VALOR BASKETBALL TEAM’S POWERS FORWARD TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS 
 

PG Valor Basketball team announces new Head Coach Georgetown University and DMV Legend Michael Graham

 

Prince George’s County Maryland (2021, May 13) - American Basketball Association (ABA) expansion team PG Valor Basketball  announces more organizational changes as season 6 approaches. 

 

 On May 12th, LaDonna and PG Valor’s new potential coach met at the Jasper’s Restaurant in Largo, MD.  When Ms. Smith arrived, the staff of the restaurant asked “how many are in your party”. She responded, “Two...I’m meeting a really tall guy”. All three staff members knew exactly who she was talking about and directed her to where the “tall man” was sitting. While there, they exchanged expectations, ideas and enjoyed a meal. As she walked to her car Ms. Smith had a renewed sense of optimism and excitement. The “tall man” was none other than Georgetown University legend-Michael Graham.

IRVIN R CHURCH, III was raised in P.G. County and was a 1991 All-Met Shooting Guard from Riverdale, MD at Parkdale H.S. As a senior Irvin avg 22 ppg and led the Parkdale Panthers to a 1991 Maryland 4A State Championship where he was named tournament MVP. In college, Irvin attended Georgetown University and played for the legendary Hall of Fame Coach John R Thompson, Jr. His freshman year he avg 10ppg and was named to the 1991-92 Big East All-Rookie Team. During his 4years on the Hilltop, Irvin played with Hall of Famers Alonzo Mourning and Allen Iverson. In 1995 Irvin received his Bachelor's in Sociology and is an active member of the Hoya Hoop Club.

ERIC RAVENELL HAWKINS, SR.  is a son of a former basketball Coach his Mother Rebecca Ravenell Hawkins who had championship girls basketball teams at Banneker Jr High and Cardoza High Schools in N.W. Washington D.C. honorable mention inductee in the Washington D.C. coaches hall of fame. 

 

Through years of following the teachings of Rebecca Eric gained invaluable first hand knowledge into coaching and the love for the game of basketball, also later playing high school and league basketball all over Washington D.C.

 During Eric's years in corporate America at Berkshire Hathaway-Cort business services Eric excelled as a relationship capitalist senior sales consultant and excelled in analyzing data...which contributed to learning every aspect of his opponent to bring a positive outcome, making it an easy transition by having vast experience in the examination of data, databases, statics and programing,

all valuable in assisting coaching tactics, training, advanced scouting...the measuring of performance for our team and the opposition.

 

Eric Ravenell Hawkins is the Owner and President of Operation Earnie's Plate a non profit organization certified 501c3 in Washington D.C. and Maryland That feeds assist clothe mentors to the homeless community...also with 2 food banks feeds 200 to 300 senior citizens and veterans every month...general street feedings can range all total 500 to 1000 people numbers vary.

MICHAEL WRIGHT was a standout player in DMV but  his basketball and coaching accomplishments extend all the way to Tobacco Road.

Wright’s Basketball Season in 1980 catapulted him into the DMV Elite Basketball World. Earning All-Metropolitan , All-Inter-high and selected to play in the local Capital Classic as well as the renowned McDonald’s All-American Game.

At completion of his stellar High School career, Mike took his talent to the Historical Black College North Carolina Central University where he had a equally remarkable career. Later being named to the NCCU's All-Time Top 5 Team.

Mr. Wright's transition into coaching and gain valuable experience as a instructing  participant at the camps of Duke’s Blue Devil’s prized
Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski - working along aside of the highly touched members of Coach K’s Coaching Tree including Johnny Dawkins and Tommy Amaker.

Mike Wright is well connected with players, coaches and influencers throughout the prestigious I-95 Basketball Corridor.

As a Pillar in The  DMV Basketball Community, Mr. Mike Wright will prove to be an invaluable resource for PG Valor
